Objective:
This three-day seminar aims to familiarize engineers with the system studies and relaying practices including unit protection of cable feeders and ground fault detection used on industrial electric power distribution systems. Step-by-step of system studies and guidelines to data collection will be presented. Evaluation of fault currents will be discussed. Selection of time-current characteristics, protection, selectivity and the calculations of relay settings are illustrated with extensive use of in-class curve drawing exercises. The course also covers practices in testing and commissioning of protective gear, as well as the important issues on electrical safety for operational personnel.

This seminar is recommended for personnel working in electric power utilization, in connection with design, installation, operation, or maintenance of relevant power apparatus.
